This is is very dark fruited wine with notes of plum, lavender, rosemary, black olive and smoked meat. Full bodied ripe and textured with fantastic sweetness to the present tannin. A great balance of complexity and freshness.

Xavier Vignon is oenologist by trade and rather than farming his own vineyards he sources grapes from various vignerons in the area. Though it is worth noting these are not any vignerons, he is having access to some of the best vineyards in the appellation.

Xavier Vignon has become one of the Rhone Valleys most accomplished winemakers. Despite not owning his own vineyards, Vignons experience consulting for over 500 different vignerons in the region has given him incredible access to some of the Rhones finest terroirs, as well as plenty of experience in how best to handle them. A self-confessed alchemist with a scientific, oenological background, Vignon has not been afraid to experiment, blending vintages and producing unusual one-off bottlings (known as the Arcane series). He is today one of the region’s most inquisitive, radical and accomplished winemakers.
