Wine Advisors (PT/FT)

We are currently seeking passionate wine enthusiasts to join our dynamic wine stores across South West London.

Our stores offer a range of over 800 wines from both iconic producers and rising stars from every corner of the world. In addition, all our stores host a dynamic in store tasting and events calendar led by our teams.

Having established ourselves over the last two decades in the neighbourhoods of south west London, our success has been driven by the enthusiasm and passion of our wine specialists, and their ability to build relationships with the local community.

We promote a vibrant workplace where everyone is encouraged to contribute with new ideas and initiatives whilst also identifying opportunities to grow the business.

These roles offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in an exciting range and to engage with and advise our customers on our wines, to present your own tastings around a broad range of themes and topics, whilst constantly learning and developing your wine knowledge.

We are able to offer both Full-Time & Part Time roles depending on your circumstances an ambitions.

What you can bring

Management Candidates

We are looking for ambitious people who wish to further develop their career in the wine industry. We are a growing and ambitious company based in South West London, recent winner of Decanter Best Organic & Biodynamic Specialist as well as runner up Decanter Best London Multi Store. We are looking for highly motivated management calibre individuals with a demonstrable passion for wine to join our team. You will have the chance to be involved in many aspects of the wine industry including sales, events, hospitality and stock management.

We are looking for the following attributes or experience:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong ability to build rapport with customers and advise on wine, spirits and specialist beer purchases at all levels.
  • Experience in the running of a wine store, restaurant or bar with a track record of delivering results.
  • Organised and able to manage your time in order to focus on both short-term priorities as well as longer term ambitions.
  • A sales instinct and commercial awareness to help grow retail sales and private client fine wine opportunities.
  • A high level of integrity, reliability and trustworthiness together with a positive, driven and self-motivating attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills and an attention to detail as well as being energetic and physically fit.
  • A good degree of common sense, as well as the ability to problem solve and be flexible where required.
  • Experience of organising, hosting and marketing a diverse range of in-store tasting events.
  • A smart, professional image and attitude coupled with a warm, friendly manner and a sense of humour.

You should also have:

  • A demonstrable passion for and good knowledge of wine, spirits & craft beer(minimum WSET Level 2 or similar experience)
  • Confidence working with a range of both unique and iconic producers from around the world
  • Excellent numeracy, with good excel and written communication skills.
  • Good IT and technology skills
  • A willingness to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis.
  • A passion for developing, mentoring and encouraging team members to grow within the business.
  • Hospitality experience would be beneficial for our drink-in offering.

Part- Time Wine Servers

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our team to serve and advise customers drinking on the premises. It may also suit candidates looking to explore the wine trade as a future career path while developing their wine knowledge.

What you can bring

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ensuring a prompt and friendly service
  • Ideally, an interest in and a good basic wine knowledge together with ability to build rapport with customers
  • A high level of integrity, reliability, and trustworthiness together with a positive and self-motivated attitude
  • Experience of handling drinks and serving wine in a hospitality setting
  • Able to handle clean down procedures and maintain cleaning records
  • Able to handle small food offerings and make wine recommendations
  • Available to work up to 12 hours per week - Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening shifts
