Calco's Pinot Noir has juicy raspberry and red cherry notes on the nose, with a tinge of floral violet character. On the palate, it has crisp acidity, fine chalky tannins and a hint of forest floor. This is a pure coastal Pinot from Chile's Limari Valley, with fresh acidity, juicy red berries and a savoury finish.

Grapes are sourced from the Limarí Valley, where the cooling influence from the Pacific delays ripening, giving a long steady growing season. The vineyard is 20 years old, with limestone and clay soils. The farming is lutte raisonnee. The grapes are picked with 30% whole clusters retained, and gently crushed before fermentation occurs in 1,000-litre vats. Natural yeasts are used for the process of alcoholic fermentation, which took place at an average temperature of 24 CËš. The wine was aged for 12 months in neutral oak barrels before bottling.
