Powell & Son, Riverside Grenache Mataro Shiraz Barossa Valley 2019

The Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro combines all three of the great Rhone red varieties, harmonising the unique attributes of each variety into a complete wine. The blend is predominantly Grenache (approximately two thirds – vintage dependent) from mature Barossa Valley Grenache bush vines, with Shiraz and Mataro making up the balance. The parcels are matured for 15 months in 2,300 litre French oak foudres prior to blending and bottling

Powell and Son was born in 2014 when father and son team David and Callum Powell. They had a vision to create expressive wines which tell of true Barossan terroir and its diversity. Six vineyard plots were selected, which they believed to be the most expressive of the different Barossan districts throughout the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley – planted to Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro.

They make five wines under their regional series, which showcase traditional styles of wines that have been made in the Barossa and stood the test of time: a Grenache Shiraz Mataro blend; a blend of Barossa and Eden Valley Shiraz, a Barossa Valley Shiraz and an Eden Valley Riesling.

We also offer the option to collect from any of our shops at no extra cost. All Mainland UK orders should be delivered within 1-3 working days.
