This wine is created from a selection massale from our oldest pinot noir wines-grafted on a very old vines, the location of the vineyard is a closely kept secret. It’s a wine meant to age, unfined and unfiltered. A wine made to challenge the very most expensive of burgundy wines in blind tastings. Very little production, less than 500 bottles/year Whole bunch fermentation, aged in 100% new oak barrels
This is a family operated winery in Tattendorf / Thermenregion, which is in lower Austria. Johanna, Franz and Stefan’s farm includes about 30 hectares of vineyards. The vineyard is strictly organic and the main varieties are St.Laurent, Pinot Noir, Zweigelt (red) and Gr. Veltliner, Gemischter Satz, Rotgipfler (white). The family are members of the group called “die burgundermacher”, which literally translated means “the burgundy makers”.
