Opulent yet balanced, this 17 year old whisky is finished in the famously sweet Pedro Ximenes sherry casks which have transferred all those fantastic flavours you would expect along with show stopping deep hues. The flavours here are intense notes of fruit cake, baking spices with undertones of vanilla and citrus.

Glencadam Distillery is situated about a mile outside the ancient Royal Burgh of Brechin, the name Glencadam translated means ‘the glen of the wild goose’. It was founded in 1825 by Messrs Thomas & Ruxton and is one of the oldest still operational distilleries in Scotland. Glencadam is quite unusual in that has an ascending lyne arm on both stills at an acute 14°, which increases the intensity that steam and vapour make contact with each other and results in a lighter spirit. It’s present-day owners are Angus Dundee Distillers LTD, and are enjoying global recognition of the quality on the whisky here and also picking up a few awards on the way with their aged releases.
