The fruit for this cuvée is hand-harvested from younger vines grown on flat, well-draining terraces rich in alluvial gravel and large, heat-retaining river pebbles.

• Gentle Extraction: Following a rigorous sorting process, the grapes undergo a partial destemming before being fermented in temperature-controlled vats, using gentle pump-overs to extract colour and flavour without drawing out harsh, bitter tannins.
• Fruit-Focused Maturation: To preserve the pristine, crunchy character of the Syrah grape, the wine is aged for one year primarily in neutral concrete tanks. A very small percentage is rested in older, seasoned oak barrels simply to soften the texture, resulting in a beautifully balanced final blend bottled with minimal filtration.

Emmanuel Darnaud represents the modern wave of passionate, independent vignerons shaping the Northern Rhône today. After founding his estate in 2001 with a small parcel of family-owned vines, his meticulous work ethic and winemaking lineage—learning alongside his legendary father-in-law, Bernard Faurie—propelled the domaine to cult status. Based in La Roche-de-Glun, Emmanuel manages his vineyards with a deep respect for nature, earning a stellar reputation among top sommeliers for producing wines that are exceptionally pure, terroir-focused, and incredibly well-polished.
