A beautifully mature expression of Crozes-Hermitage. Violet, blackberry and dark fruit have developed into more savoury notes of black truffle, spice and earth, with touches of toast and mocha from ageing in barrel. Rich and generous on the palate, yet still fresh with beautifully integrated tannins and a long, savoury finish. Drinking superbly now.

100% Syrah from Crozes-Hermitage. The grapes are hand harvested and partially destemmed before fermentation in stainless steel and concrete vats, with gentle punching down and pumping over during fermentation. The wine is then matured for up to 18 months in barrel, building depth and texture while retaining the freshness and character of the fruit.

Emmanuel Darnaud established his domaine in 2001 with just 1.5 hecatres of leased vines in Crozes-Hermitage. A meticulous, parcel focused approach has remained at the heart of the estate as it's grown, with individual sties vinified separately to capture the different expressions of the appellation.

Today the domain encompasses vineyards in the Crozes-Hermitage, Saint Joseph and Hermitage, including parcels on the celebrated Bessards and Greffieux terroirs. Yields are restricted and grapes harvested and sorted by hand, producing Northern Rhône wines of purity, depth and character.
