Winemaking is classical, incorporating 15-30% whole cluster in function of the year and the vineyard, with relatively long macerations and maturation in 30-50% new wood. Proprietor and winemaker Guillaume Camus is increasingly using more larger format barrels to diminish the impact of new wood.
Domaine Camus-Bruchon has been estate bottling since the 1970s, with 1982 the first vintage that they exported to overseas markets. This is an excellent source for keenly priced, classically balanced wines that consistently develop well in the cellar, so it's a mystery why this 7.5-hectare domaine isn't better known.
