The nose is beautiful and fine, with delicate floral aromatics of rose and lavender, while the old vines from south-facing Borzone vineyard bring generous wild berry fruit to a palate that is at once both beautifully smooth and incredibly energetic. The tannins are silky and supple, structuring this well-rounded wine and setting it up for a long drinking window.

Careful selection of the grapes in the months preceding the harvest, harvested at optimal phenolic maturity. Controlled temperature fermentation and long skin macerations, approximately 20 to 30 days, sometimes with a submerged cap. Malolactic in steel and concrete, with aging for approximately 24-30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and French oak tonneaux, no new wood is used. A long refinement in the bottle follows.Formats: bottle (0.75 L), magnum (1.5 L), jeroboam (3 L).

The Grimaldis were farmers in Grinzane Cavour who increasingly focussed on grape-growing and the occasional bottling of their own wines in the years after the war. In 1999, the estate took off properly, when Bruna Grimaldi and her husband Franco Fiorni started regular bottling. She inherited vines in Serralunga, notably the Badarina vineyard, and the family have purchased other parcels to complement their holdings. They were joined in 2015 by their son Simone, who is assuming ever more responsibility, and his sister Martina began working here in 2019. The vines have been farmed organically since 2014.
