Every New Year’s Eve, I cook a feast of a certain cuisine. This year it was Syrian (from Imad Alarnab’s Syrian Kitchen recipe book cum autobiography). I was surprised to even find a Syrian wine. Bargylus is a mid to full bodied red with plenty of fruity flavours. It went really well with the Middle Eastern spices I had cooked with, and didn’t overpower the lighter dishes (eg labneh cheese with okra). I could also enjoy it without food - a really easy drinker this one!
Also grateful to have discovered The Good Wine Shop - this first order was perfect! And friendly too, with their cute Christmas postcard! Thank you!
