The 2011 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is pretty but almost unusually polished and silky for a site that tends to produce much firmer and more tannic wines. The Bricco Fiasco represents the historic Cru of the company. Here the vines were replanted in the 1940's by Luigis's father. In 1978 Luigi and his father decided together to vinify separately, for the first time, the bunches obtained from this vineyard, given its unique position and the perfect ripening of the grapes. They absolutely wanted this vineyard to be recognizable in the bottle and for a label, a wine, to be dedicated to this vineyard. Barolo Bricco Fiasco was one of the first Barolos to identify a Cru, a single vineyard.

In 1920, Cavalier Lorenzo Scavino began making wine from part of the grapes produced by the family's vineyards, a small peasant reality in the center of the Barolo production area. His son Alfonso enthusiastically began to bottle the wine produced and thanks to Luigi's father, Lorenzo, with perseverance and will, the wines were exported for the first time.
