Luciano Sandrone, Le Vigne, Barolo 2001
- Red
- 75cl
- ABV 14.5%
Founded in 1978, the small estate of Luciano Sandrone is one of the most revered in the Langhe. Le Vigne was first produced in 1990 and is an old-school assemblage of the finest parcels of vines from the estate-owned vineyards in Baudana (Serralunga), Villero (Castiglione Falletto), Vignane (Barolo) and Merli (Novelli). The grapes undergo spontaneous indigenous yeast fermentation in open-top steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation in 500-litre French oak barrels. From the sublime 2001 vintage, this is now perfect for drinking.
