Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay comes from an estate in the Carneros area, one of the coolest parts of the Napa Valley. The vines were planted in 1980 and are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture. The harvest is carried out when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. In the winery, the grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must ferments 75% in barrels and the rest in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine ages for 12 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.

Founded by publicist John Shafer in 1972 in the Napa Valley, Shafer Vineyards has been a key player in North American wine production since the beginning. Starting with some impressive landscapes, they make quality wines that have earned an international reputation. The winery is now run by the founder’s son Doug Shafer and oenologist Elías Fernández
