Along with its bright colour, the Domaine Corsin’s Pouilly-Fuissé ‘Aux Chailloux’ offers a refreshing, mellow fragrance of stone fruit and white flowers, with a hint of minerality. The attack on the palate is fresh and well-balanced, with peach, lemon pith, pear and just a hint of vanilla and toasty oak. This wine, with its beautiful balance of fruit and minerality, and its harmonious taste, benefits from one of the most favourable microclimates of Corsin's vineyards. The Aux Chailloux has a long finish driven by brilliant acidity.

The Aux Chailloux is made from a 0.69 hectare plot of Chardonnay situated at Solutré in the hamlet of Pouilly exposed to the south at an altitude of around 220 metres. The average age of the vines is 60 years. The soils are made up of clay with an element of loam. After the manual harvest the grapes undergo pneumatic pressing and static clarification. Fermentation takes place in thermostatically controlled vats with partial racking during fermentation. The wine is matured on the fine lees with stirring, for 50% in oak barrels (20% new) and 50% in stainless steel. After 10 months of maturation the wine is blended.
Domaine Corsin has established an excellent reputation for making wines in Saint Veran and Pouilly-Fuisse since 1864. They were among the first to label the wines as Pouilly-Fuisse and Macon blanc. Joseph Jacquet, the founder of the domaine, had only two hectares of Chardonnay when he started making wine. In 1971, with the advent of the Saint Veran appellation, Joseph’s grandson Andre acquired new vineyards in Davaye and Pouilly-Fuisse. His two sons, Jean-Jacques and Gilles, subsequently joined him in the family business. Today, the domaine, now in its fifth generation, owns 13.6 hectares of Chardonnay in the Maconnais.
