Chateau Noaillac is now producing succulent, lovely early drinking claret. Peppery red fruit nose tinged with a hint of liquorice followed by faintly toasted cedar, earth and spice. The palate is still on the lighter side with generous ripe blackcurrant and mulberry flavours over toasty cedar, earth and spice nuances. Dryish finish with a sturdy tannin structure providing some grip. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, toasty cedar, earth and spice. A top example of entry level Bordeaux that delivers fantastic value.

Produced with grapes from vines with an average age of 30 years, growing in Garonne and Pyrenean gravel soils. After an initial maceration period, the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled wooden vats. The wine is aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels.
A rising star. Damien, Marc Pages’s grandson, took over the running of this property some years ago.Some 40 years ago, they realised that the soil in this northerly part of the Medoc once produced excellent wines and the land had been abandoned. Now with 46 hectares, and the vines becoming older, 20-25 years on average, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 55% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, a new chai with rows of temperature controlled stainless steel vats and an immaculate barrel cellar. Château Noaillac is now producing succulent, lovely early drinking claret.
