This is a Classic Bordeaux with a pronounced cassis, black pepper and capsicum nose; red currants, blackberries and soft, fleshy fruit on the palate. Velvety tannic structure and gentle leather notes through the finish.

Fermentation is in stainless steel with a 2-week cuvaison and ageing is for 12 months in a combination of new and one-year-old barriques. It is fined with egg whites and very lightly filtered prior to bottling. From 23 year old vines with 60% oak aging, 20% in new oak.
This property is right down in the southern end of Graves, next to the great sweet wine appellations of Sauternes and Barsac and is in fact owned by Chateau de Malle who produce excellent Sauternes. Their red is an elegant blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot from 25 year old vines.
