Ripe red/dark fruit aromas and that characteristic garrigue and pepper notes. Lovely softness in the mouth with velvety tannins and confit fruits building across the palate, hints of tobacco and leather and a nice spine of acidity from the Syrah as well as some spicy blackcurrant fruit.

The vineyard soils consists of alluvial marls and clay with galets (rounded pebbles typical of the area). The vineyards have a south-facing exposure. The grapes are fully destemmed, lightly crushed and fermented at cool temperatures in traditional concrete cuves for about 15 days. Maturation takes place in tank for 8-15 months. Les Vignerons d'Estezargues use no external yeasts, and no enzymes. They filter nor fine the wines.

Les Vignerons d’Estezargues, created in 1965, is a co-operative cellar in the small town of Estezargues which is located near Avignon. Les Vignerons d’Estezargues takes a fundamentally different approach to the standard practices of co-operatives in France; the ten different growers in this co-op began to vinify their wine separately and make single cuvees from their best plots. On the heels of the single cuvee evolution, over twenty years ago, Les Vignerons d’Estezargues began to practice natural winemaking. The process of conversion to organic farming was initiated in 2005, and today 8 out of 10 estates are Ecocert certified, or in the process of being so, representing 70% of the vineyards.
