The nose is of dark, sour cherries, blackberries and fresh tobacco. A Laser-focused tart fruits focus palate of blackberry like jam on scones with a peppery yet velvet structure. The aim with this Malbec was to steer away from classic, bold and tannic styles and instead celebrate it's youthful exuberance above all else, focusing on bright fruits balanced by earthier elements.

Production Notes Production Notes

Grown in Langhorne Creek from cuttings taken from the fabled Wendouree vineyard in Clare, we picked the Malbec to be bright and pretty with natural freshness. Using gentle techniques in the cellar of plunging and basket pressing, we've been able to persist with that freshness throughout the wines life, even after ageing for 8 months in old barrels.

Based in McLaren Vale, South Australia, Alpha Box & Dice are embarking on an Alphabet of Wine. Each 'letter' embodies an individual winemaking project, with the end goal being a complete collection of wines that celebrates the diverse styles and varieties found in South Australia's famous wine regions, including McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. Since its beginning in 2008, AB&D has become a champion of South Australia's alternative – particularly Mediterranean – varieties, exhibiting innovation at every step of the process by bending traditional winemaking norms.
