We are just about to receive a new consignment of Champagne from one of our favourite small houses – Gallimard. We are delighted to be able to offer customers a fantastic deal of 25% off when they purchase a 6 pack of any one of their Champagnes. This offer will end on the 31st October.
Champagne Gallimard is a family-owned and run Champagne house based in Les Riceys in the Southern Aube. They first began producing their own Champagnes in 1930, and continue to create delicious, hand-crafted wines from their ten hectares of vineyards. These Champagnes are produced in very small quantities, and already represent great value – at this special offer price they are absolutely unmissable!
Gallimard Brut Cuvée de Réserve NV
Made from 100% Pinot Noir and based on the 2011 and 2010 vintages, only 100,000 bottles of this cuvée are produced every year. This is a full-flavoured, but beautifully well-balanced wine that shows ripe citrus and hints of tropical fruit on the nose, and a refreshing palate with a creamy and moreish texture. This is an excellent apéritif, but will match very well with scallops or Asian-inspired fish dishes.
Price for 6 bottles – £117 (usually £156) Saving £39
Gallimard Brut Rosé NV
Whereas most rosé Champagne is made by blending red and white wines together before fermentation in bottle, this rosé is produced by leaving the wine in contact with the skins of the red grapes for a short time before drawing off the juice and finishing the Champagne-making process. This produces a rosé of great elegance and finesse, with extremely pretty and delicate red fruit character which goes brilliantly with fruit-based desserts as well as on its own.
Price for 6 bottles – £135 (usually £180) Saving £45
Gallimard Cuvée Prestige Millésime 2008
This vintage Champagne is aged for four years in the Gallimard cellars before release, and a mere 7,500 bottles are produced each year. This blend of 65% Pinot Noir with 35% Chardonnay shows an attractive toasty richness from extended ageing on lees alongside impressive finesse and complexity. Intense aromas of brioche, lemon and blossom lead to a ripe, honeyed palate with remarkable persistence. This is a Champagne with enough power to match with white meat dishes as well as with fish.
Price for 6 bottles – £144 (usually £192) Saving £48
