Cistercian monks from the Abbey of Quincy recognized the beauty and potential of the vineyards around Epineuil as early as the 13th century. A fresh start occurred in the late 1970s with the replanting of the vineyards. In 1989, Jean-Paul Gruhier took over the "Abbaye du Petit Quincy," also known as Château d’Epineuil, and he has been supported by his son Dominique since 1990. Today, they proudly manage over 30 hectares of vineyards and utilize state-of-the-art winemaking technology within a historic setting. The winemaking process is approached with the utmost care. Dominique aims to produce a wine that expresses the purity of the fruit, offering richness and drinkability. Since 1999, he has focused on creating low-sulphur wines, with the ultimate goal of eliminating the addition of sulphur altogether.
