A note of honey, soft toast and gentle citrus. On the palate, the Pinot component seems to show a little more red fruit. But also crisper and more youthful and not quite as full in the mouth. Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill is a prestige cuvee made in homage to the politician reflective of the qualities he enjoyed in Champagne. robustness, full-bodied character and maturity. It is therefore only made in the best vintages with old vine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Grand Cru vineyards, though the exact cépage a closely guarded family secret.
Pol Roger is perhaps best known as Winston Churchill's favourite Champagne. The house remains family-owned and has a reputation for producing champagnes of finesse and elegance which age very well. The Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill, launched in 1984 and made from a secret blend, is a Champagne of exquisite finesse and balance and one that rivals the very best of the region.
