Grapes sourced from six distinct vineyards, including sites located in the Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope, and Walla Walla Valley, give this wine layered complexity. Handpicked Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were sorted, gently fermented, and aged in tight grain French oak barrels with thick staves to slowly integrate the fruit and oak. Just a touch of Syrah, aged in 600L Taransaud puncheons, adds richness and depth to the mid-palate.

Do you remember Twin Peaks? Kyle MacLachlan Actor and Owner and Vintner of Persued by Bear. His interest in wine began in the mid 1980s. After moving to LA to pursue his acting career, he frequently returned to Yakima to visit his father and explore the burgeoning wine scene. Later, inspired by friends in Napa Valley, the notion of making his own wine took hold. A Washington wine would allow him to see family more often and the Washington Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs he tasted were spectacular—an alluring mix of Old World elegance and New World grandeur. Shortly after, a chance meeting with Walla Walla winemaker Eric Dunham led to a simple handshake that launched Pursued by Bear in 2005.
