Description

Notes of stone fruit, ripe peaches and a citrus element of orange peel and orange blossoms on the nose. A full volume and complex palate with a pronounced saline character very much driven by the salty soils. A white wine with great texture, medium bodied with well-integrated acidity, the finish is dry and long.

The climate at the winery is Hot, humid and Mediterranean near the coast becoming drier and more continental further
inland. The terroir is extremely sandy and salty soils at zero meters above sea level. Bush vines. Some green harvesting.
VINIFICATION: Hand harvested in small crates and strict selection at the winery. Soft maceration with gentle, skin contact for 5 days. Spontaneous fermentation in concrete vats. Indigenous yeasts from the natural park. Half way through fermentation the wine is pressed and skins removed. Aged on the lees for five months in concrete vats under a cap of flor (velo

Finca Casa Balaguer are a small family run winery based in Alicante. Their wines are made in the most natural way possible, practicing organic agriculture. The focus is on local grape varieties, only natural yeasts and absolutely no chemical additives are used in their wines. In their own words, ‘we believe our grapes should express themselves naturally, so it is our job as wines makers to provide them with the best possible environment in which to grow. The less intervention from us in the winery the better, so our wines can truly reflect the character of our wonderful land.
